What people say.

Mamie was wonderful to work with - professional, diligent, responsive, and engaged. Her presentation at the Lean Startup Conference totally hit the mark.
Kirsten C, Event Producer
It was a pleasure to work with Mamie. She listened to what we needed, provided options that matched those needs, and delivered a series of workshops that exceeded our expectations. Her excellent ideas, tips, and tools provided a practical way for participants to implement healthy meeting strategies at work. We are still hearing from participants about how they are using her advice and bringing their team members along to make 'Mastering Meetings' part of their organizational culture. Thank you, Mamie!
Roweena Naidoo, Senior Director, Policy and Impact Investing, Mile High United Way
Mamie's workshop was engaging, informative and empowering. The opportunity to focus on learning and increasing productivity and purpose in the workforce is truly valuable. Thank you!

About Mamie.

I'm Mamie Kanfer Stewart. I help managers and teams turn what they know about good management into what they actually do — because the gap between knowing and doing is where almost every manager gets stuck.

I host The Modern Manager podcast (400+ episodes, over a million downloads, top 1% globally), and wrote Momentum. My work spans two businesses: direct support for individual managers through The Modern Manager, and team and company development through The Modern Team.

I've been starting things and fixing things that felt worse than they needed to be since I was twelve, when I ran my own summer camp because the one I'd attended could've been so much better. That pattern never really stopped: see a system that isn't working, rebuild it so it does. It's why I don't just teach management theory, I focus on the practical aspects of changing behavior. I recognize the knowing-doing gap because I've had to close it myself, over and over, not because I studied it from the outside.

Off the clock, I'm just as serious about practicing what I teach. I protect time for family, daily exercise, and the things that make life feel full (piano, travel, real evenings with the people I love) because a management philosophy that only works if you sacrifice your own life isn't one I'd want to sell you. If I'm asking managers to build sustainable, human-centered habits, I'd better be living inside my own advice.
